About Us

The Public Foundation “Center for Analysis and Forecasting “Open World” (hereinafter referred to as the Center) was established in 2013, the office is located in Astana, has passed state registration with the justice authorities of Kazakhstan.

Since its inception, the main task of the Center as a non-governmental research and consulting institution has been the analytical and consulting support of interested persons and organizations.

Our Center is a voluntary association of experts, has formed a highly professional team, has its own Expert Council. Our team consists of professional political scientists, sociologists, economists, religious scholars and historians with many years of experience.

The purpose and subject of the Center’s activities are independent research, monitoring of the information space, preparation and execution of information and analytical documents on topical issues of international relations, mainly on the subject of the countries of the Central Asian region, the Middle East, the development of practical recommendations for interested organizations and individuals.

The mission of the Center is to try to integrate representatives of business and academia, government and public sectors to achieve socially useful results.

The Center acts as a platform for bilateral and multilateral relations and a tool for developing partnerships within the framework of independent research.

The Center’s research is conducted on a wide range of topics – international relations, politics, political economy, financial, commodity and consumer markets, strategic management and sociology.

In particular, we consider the following areas of activity to be our priorities:

– individual (customized) research;

– strategic or business consulting;

– organization and implementation of research projects on the comparative study of public opinion and political institutions in the countries of the Near, Middle East and Central Asia;

– research in the field of regional and national security;

– social direction, which includes the study of public opinion, expectations, beliefs, beliefs, values and orientation on various issues of public life;

– political, economic, cultural studies;

– expert surveys that are aimed at clarifying hypotheses, developing a forecast and updating interpretation options for certain social phenomena and processes.

 

To achieve its goal, the Center carries out the following activities:

– systematic monitoring of the press of the studied countries, analysis of legislative and regulatory acts, decisions of public authorities and management affecting the activities of research objects;

– organizes and participates in seminars, conferences, forums and symposiums;

– expands contacts with similar analytical and consulting organizations;

– provides analytical and consulting services to public and private interested domestic and foreign organizations.

On the basis of the Center, students of higher educational institutions constantly undergo internships and pre-graduate practice, some of whom later become employees of analytical structures.

During its existence, we have actively participated in events organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Foundation of the First President, the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, the Center for Military and Strategic Studies, the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy on Trade and Economic Cooperation with Afghanistan, regional security issues and the fight against Extremism, the Research Institute “Public opinion”, RSU “Kogamdyk kelisim”, F.Ebert Foundation, etc.

In addition, at the invitation of foreign partners, they took part in international conferences in Delhi (India), Kabul (Afghanistan).

The Center conducts fundamental research on strategic issues of foreign and domestic policy, socio-economic development of Kazakhstan, prepares materials of a predictive and analytical nature.

In the main areas of its activities, the Center regularly holds conferences, round tables and international forums.

The Center cooperates with foreign scientific and analytical structures, carries out international research projects on various problems of development of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
